Who we are

We are 20+ member group meeting monthly in Newport Beach to plan student exchange trips and social events for Sister Cities in Okazaki, Japan and Antibes, France.

We are closely aligned with the City of Newport Beach, the Rotary Club, the Environmental Nature Center, and dozens of corporations in Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, & Corona Del Mar.

In 1956, President Eisenhower initiated Sister City Associations to increase communication & cooperation between cities. Today, over 900 U.S. cities have established associations. California leads the country with 188 sister cities.

As a member, you will learn about new cultures & customs; meet interesting people with mutual interests; travel to our sister cities; participate in fundraising events; attend parties and dinners to commemorate foreign holidays; assist in event-planning; and share our goals for international unity.

Our approach

The Newport Beach Sister City Association is a non-profit, volunteer organization to promote international communication, understanding, education & friendship between the people of Newport Beach and the people of foreign cities. These principles are accomplished through the following activities:
